Three Plate tool robot solution
Dan Bennett, Director of Edgewest Plastics is extremely pleased with his latest Apex robot acquisition.
Running three plate tools can place demands on moulding efficiency and having been using single arm Apex robots to both remove the sprue and also take out the mouldings, Dan decided that a good way for Edgewest Plastics to increase production outputs and shorten cycle times on these tools was to invest in a twin arm Apex robot.
Dan says that the recently installed Apex SB-1000D full servo twin arm robot and its ability to independently handle the sprues and the mouldings has made a huge difference on cycle time and brought about a 29% increase in production.
