We have recently completed the first phase of a project to streamline productivity through robot upgrades at a leading UK manufacturer of high quality personal care products.
The business currently has two injection moulding machines – both of which were fitted with robots from one of our competitors some years ago. However, the automation and support didn’t meet expectations and the company had largely reverted back to manual production to meet the demands for its products.
Some months ago we were selected to supply the first replacement robot and to look at ways of streamlining the downstream aspects prior to manual assembly of the company’s products.
We were also awarded the order to upgrade the material loading and drying equipment as the company’s production process utilises materials which have high percentage of wax-like additive which plays havoc with filters and transport pipework.
Our customer said: “We’ve been delighted with the results that the team at Trace PT have helped us to achieve. Their experience of working with demanding polymer materials has been invaluable and their commitment to service has been excellent. Our faith in automating aspects of our production has been restored.”
The programme is now moving towards us doing the same for the other machine and we are in ongoing discussions about other equipment we can supply which will provide further efficiency gains.
