When Clark-Drain invested in a NB 1500 tonne machine so as to extend their production and to be able to introduce larger mouldings to their product range, they selected the Apex full servo model SC-2000D robot with telescopic downstroke arm.
Robert Petty, Plastics Manager of Clark-Drain Ltd explains that, with the company having been operating a number of Apex robots for many years and with other recent investments in Apex full servo robots, it was a safe decision to move up to the heavy weight Apex SC series.
Clark-Drain’s products are heavy, large and durable hence, their handling equipment has to be the same – Robert designs and builds the company’s own End of Arm Tooling which, for this latest moulding, weighs 22 kgs on its own so, with the weight of the moulding added to that, it’s easy to see why the Apex SC series can be called “the mighty Apex”.
