See what can be achieved with a sprue picker – with bespoke EoAT

Shot at SD Mouldings Ltd in Manningtree, Essex, this little video demonstrates the amazing versatility of Apex radial action robots and shows what can be achieved with what the industry commonly describes as ‘a sprue picker’ robot. With our bespoke designed EoAT and some careful programming, the robot achieves more than you might have thought possible by a ‘sprue picker’. (n.b. safety guarding was removed so that the video could be made)
The application required our designing and manufacturing specialised headwork to de-gate product from sprues at the face of the tool and which also removed the sprues for closed looping via a granulator.
