Ezi-Dock Systems Ltd of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, manufactures World Class products for processing, handling and storage of semi-bulk Powders & Liquids.
The Company’s CSV All Plastic, Single-Use High Containment System provides a highly effective but simple and disposable transfer solution for the Pharma and Biopharma industries.
Comprising ABS upper and lower components, with a Polypropylene slider, the manufacturing process requires the units to be pre-assembled and heated in a Shini CD Series Cabinet Dryer supplied by us.
The assemblies are placed in the dryer for 30 minutes at 80ºC, removed and left to cool. During heating, the slider acts as a jig to counteract the ‘toeing in’ of the ABS parts, which would otherwise restrict the movement of the slider when cooled, resulting in the need for greater force to move it.
Pete Carrington, Cleanroom Injection Mould Shop Manager at Ezi-Dock, said: “We have to monitor the timings very closely as it’s possible to over-cook the parts, which will deform them and if not heated long enough the friction is still too high. The Shini Cabit Dryer allows us to carry out the process to a high degree of accuracy, producing 108 assemblies every 40-50 minutes, including loading and unloading the trays”.
